Tin tetraiodide is a semiconductor material that can be used to prepare high-performance perovskite solar cells. It can effectively remove Sn4+ spontaneously formed on the surface of tin-based perovskite films, improve the cleanliness and crystallinity of the film, and significantly reduce the defect state density, thereby enhancing the solar photovoltaic performance of perovskite cells. It can also be used to prepare selenium tetroxide and tin dioxide. It can also be used as an analytical reagent and in organic synthesis.
